If you are not on a state benefit that entitles you to free treatment, you have to pay the prices set by the Government for NHS dental treatment.
At Mile Lane Dental practice, we will provide all your treatment on the NHS unless it is not permitted. If a treatment is not permitted on the NHS the dentist will tell you. This could be a white filling on a molar (backtooth) or a white crown on a back molar. You can choose to have the NHS option i.e. a metal filling or a metal crown or you can choose the white filling or white crown on your back tooth which would be done privately. Your dentist will arrange to give you a price, in writing, when you return to reception.
You will decide whether you wish to have the treatment done privately or under the NHS. You must tell your dentist which you have chosen before s/he starts preparing the work. ie.drilling your tooth, as the preparation for the treatment may well be different and once started will not be able to be changed. You would then be responsible for any changes associated with the work.
Payments are now taken at each stage of your appointments. For example if you have a check up and are coming back for a filling. The check up fee is require on the day of the check up appointment.
